The
Gathering of Angels is The Salvation Army’s annual fundraising event and one of the
Army’s three
main sources of operating funds. Last year’s Gathering of Angels raised
over $250,000
in gifts and pledges.
The program for the one-hour event includes a
presentation of the George Archer award to an outstanding volunteer, a video
about The Salvation Army and a featured speaker. This
year’s speaker is Dr. Chris Stephens of Knoxville’s Faith Promise Church.

Since
coming to Faith Promise in 1996, Dr. Stephens has been instrumental in
facilitating the church’s growth from 250 to over 3,500 in attendance and
has
grown the staff from 5 to 50. Faith
Promise has twice been named as one of the 100 Fastest-Growing Churches in
America by
Outreach Magazine.
In
addition, Dr. Stephens is the founder of Kaleo Ministries, designed to support
and motivate leaders and the author of The
Climb of Your Life – Reaching the Peak of Your
Potential.
Instead
of selling tickets to The Gathering, The Salvation Army offers a number of
giving options:
- Corporate
Sponsorships begin
at $5,000 for event sponsors; $10,000 for presenting sponsors and $25,000 for
principal sponsor.
- Table Sponsors donate $2,500 to host a table of 10
guests
- Table Hosts invite 10 guests, who will be asked to make a pledge or
contribution.
This year’s
event will take place at noon on April 21 at the Knoxville Expo Center on
